Ceawin the Generous, Chieftain of Sunstead
Ceawin is the extravagant chieftain of an eclectic tribe of men, many of whom once lived to the East of Mirkwood, out in the plains of Drowinion. When word reached his people that the great Dragon Smaug was dead, Ceawin’s father led them west, along the banks of the Running River and through the Dragonfire-scorched lands of East Rhovanion to the East Bight. There, they have settled, and begun to farm the lands, chop down wood from the forest and to trade with passing caravans and smaller settlements.
Ceawin and his family brought with him a great wealth when he migrated from the East. These riches, along with the extra fertile lands of the East Bight have caused his once small tribe swell fourfold, men and women from all of Middle-Earth have chosen to settle in Sunstead, Woodsmen, Gondorians, and even men from the far East of Dorwinion now call this place home, making the town a richly diverse trading hub that Dale and Lake-town have grown increasingly jealous of.
Ceawin has become close friends with the Woodmen of Woodmen-town and Rhosgobel in particular, and he intends to unite his people with them more formally. After the fashion of the Woodmen, he has built his hall under the shadow of the trees of the Narrows, and intends to wed the daughter of an elder of one of the other Woodsmen tribes. Both his generosity and his love of exploring the forest have become well known to many and there are plenty, including Radagast himself, that have warned Ceawin to stay away from Southern Mirkwood, but he does not listen.
