Thror, Son of Dain I

Thror, Son of Dain was a King of Durin's Folk and was grandfather to Thorin Oakenshield.
After a great Cold-drake killed both his father and brother Frór, the remaining brothers Thrór and Grór led their people away from the Grey Mountains. As Dáin's heir Thrór led many Dwarves back to Lonely Mountain in T.A. 2590, where he became King under the Mountain.
He was later slain at the hands of Azog the Defiler, his head cleaved from his shoulders and his body thrown out onto the steps of the entrance to Moria. A feat which earned the wrath of the Dwarves and started the war between Dwarves and Orcs.
