The Midgewater Marshes

Midgewater Marshes, a fly-infested region of marshland in central Eriador, is a fen that lies between the Chetwood to the west and the Weather Hills to the east. The East Road is to the south of the marshes. The land is boggy and dangerous with no permanent path. Pools, reeds, and rushes fill the area which is home to birds, flies, tiny biting midges, and loud cricket-like insects referred to as Neekerbreekers.
