Middle-Earth: Arda, Endor Into the Mirror Brightly - The Mirrors' Penumbra - The Mirrored Glass Odyssey

1432 T.A.

Created by

The Fellowship of Renewal was active throughout Arnor beginning in 1356 T.A. in the Sack of Rhudaur and Siege of Amon-Sûl in 1376 T.A.. Following a brief respite of peace and adventures across Eriador the Fellowship continued their battles against the forces of Angmar from 1410 T.A. until its dissolution after the Slaughter on the Angirith Shelf and the Massacre at Carn Dûm, now know as the Dagor-Forodúath in 1412 T.A.
Following the destruction of Carn-Dûm and banishment of The Witch-King from the realms of the north an uneasy peace fell upon Eriador. The realm of Rhudaur was utterly shattered during the battle, the totality of its peoples, armies, and lords lay strewn about the fields, hills, and marches betrayed by the Hillmen. Among the dead Lord Amrothar of Rhudaur, Fourth Prince Cathändril, Lord Raimáro Aräval Oiomíril, Pilindur Oiomíril, Belegdur the Captain of Barad Thoron, Bragol the Magistrate-Captain of Dol Occum, and Ergondil Forro amongst many others who were ravaged by the trolls of the North and felled by their own hubris. A bulwarked position, and defensive stratagems spared the Majority of the Noldor and Dwarves, though the Silvan Elves and irregular guerillas were almost entirely wiped out as well.
In the aftermath of the great victory, wherein Arnor and the Noldor had cast down the shadow of Angmar, a vast host from Arthedain marched north to confront the remnants yet attempting to renew themselves. But treachery brewed in the hearts of men; many of the remaining princes of Cardolan lead by Ruling Prince Araphor Argelion, vassalized the forer lands of Rhudaur. This control was however, short lived, a border war erupted between the two Kingdoms. In the pitched battle outside of the ransacked Cameth-Brin King Arveleg I was wounded, but in his place Second Crown Prince Eärnur slew Ruling Prince Araphor in vengeance, aided by the timly arrival of the 1st Ranger Arequain Argon, the Royal Ranger Corps, and her "Knight-Witches" the remaining armies of Cardolan surrendured in the face of the overwhelming victory of Arthedain. The war was however, a cruel twist of fate that allowed the forces of darkness to regain their strength and reconstitute their power. The Remnants of Angmar, now under the direct control of the Necromancer and his monstrous legions, were to become a more formidable foe than ever before. Months later the Necromancer unleashed his most deadly plague upon the whole of Eriador, making use of the glut of corpses on his doorstep as fuel for his foul sorcery. Its strength lessened as it passed northwards over protected Tyrn Gorthad, Hollin, Fornost-Erain, Annúminas and those lands still held by the strength of men and elves, yet still the nefarious miasma brought low the already weakened King Arveleg I. So it was that in his place 1st Prince Arvegil would be crowned as as 21st King of Arnor, 11th King of Arthedain, and 2nd High King of Arnor Reunited in the year T.A. 1415.
During this bitter conflict, the elves of Imladris, though under the protection of and loyal to the Kingdom of Eregion Reformed, declared their neutrality forseeing conflict between the Children of Illuvatar. In the ensuing chaos Eregion reclaimed several of their ancestral lands within Rhudaur and Cardolan, raising tensions on the militarized borders. Though Imladris remained a neutral zone, a sanctuary amidst the storm, the lands around it simmered with strife and unease. The princes of Arthedain, seeing the need for unity, formerly dissolved the other petty kingdoms and began to consolidate their power, seeking to reclaim the lands taken by the elves.
Skirmishes on these contentious borders became all too common, and the crisis was exacerbated by invasions from the Dunlendings in the south and the Necromancers forces from the north. It was clear that peace, unity, and compromise were desperately needed. Thus, a great conference was called to be held in conjunction with the wedding of Fælwen Tínuviel and King Oromendero of the Quendi. Following the spectacle of unparalleled magnificence it was decided that the annexed realms would be shared between the two powers. In exchange for the return of and Arnorian primacy in Cardolani lands the Noldor would claim the lands they had liberated in Rhudaur. With the matter of land claims settled it was agreed the dark powers gathering in the Ettenmoors, particuarly those in Mount Gram must be vanquished.
So it was that a new Fellowship was needed, and thus, by the will of Queen Fælwen Tínuviel and King Oromendero of the Quendi one was commisioned to be launched upon the day of their wedding February 27th, 1432 T.A.
