Konall Blue-Cheek

Lund was ever home to thriving farmland. When the time of the final battle loomed and the ship Naglfar, made of the untrimmed finger- and toenails of the dead, carried the Helbuar to battlefield and the leader of the frost giants to the head of his armies, depositing the damned and several of the giant’s lesser chieftains along the way.   The chieftains called to their kin from the mountains, and formed clay-giants in the vein of Mokkerkalfe, as Hrungnir did before his duel with Thor. And though the Thunderer prepare himself for battle, the pounding of his hammer slew many giants all over Midgard with errant lightning, spilling the rich earth of their bodies onto the surface. Only their skulls and ribs, made of stone, remained.   Konall Blue-Cheek settled in the ruins of Lund, whose land was made fertile by the guts of the giants. His crops grew fast and plentiful, overseen by the skulls of three giants. Many plants growing wild on the outskirts of his land have never been seen by Norse eyes, including a sweet stalk on which Konall is oft found chewing. In fact, the rotting of his teeth led to his by-name.   Konall thought the prophecy true, that man was entering a new age of peace and plenty after Ragnarok. But not all is well in Konall’s little kingdom. Though his tenants never squabble for want of food, ravenous undead have begun to haunt his borders – perhaps a legacy of Naglfar sailing so near?
