Armored: Protections in Play

What do the people of Midnight Town use as basic defense?

• No to most actual medieval armor, outside of a few weirdos who decided to do it for the aesthetic
• Also no to modern forms of armor, like bulletproof vests, because I think that guns wouldn't play into it much and if they did it would be under strange circumstances where your average vest would not do much good
• Also I don't think the people here would favor things that look like armor because they're trying very hard to pretend to be normal

With that in mind, what do they actually use?

• Lots of magic clothes
• There's a metallic sheen (gold or silver or whatever) to things that have been magicked, giving a lot of people a kind of futuristic look, which I like because it seemingly contradicts the fantasy core
• I like runes so that can be a big aspect of it, that you simply have a particular charged-up symbol on you
• Most of it should be wood or plastic, because of the various metal allergies, so using something like silver or iron is considered grossly offensive, and not dissimilar to showing off the gun hilt in your belt
