The world was dark, no light existed nor anything to be seen by the light. This was when the world was as one. Then it ripped itself apart creating an infinite world called the astral plane. Within the wast space small pockets of energy formed growing larger and larger until the planes of existences was born. Each plane continued to form itself differently, some became scorching hot and some became so cold nothing could move. In the middle of all of this was a bead of energy so large it could not contain itself. It shattered and released its energy all around but none of the other planes would absorb this energy, it stayed swirling around in the astral plane. But now the bead in the middle was finally small enough to form its own world, Midranor, and this became our world.
- A story of the birth of existence written in 4153
Midranor is only a plane of existence within the astral plane. It is the home to humans, elves, dwarves and more. In this world there is an constant looming threat, an invasion from the other planes of existence. Therefor the people of Midranor always strive to become stronger, engaging in large wars sometimes only to find those with talent and strength worth nurturing. Adventurers are common no matter where you turn and so are their enemies. There are orcs pillaging the lands, dragons burning cities and giants smashing the very foundations the empires stand upon.   There is only one reason to why a world of Midranor is in a constant struggle, there is no god of Midranor. Every plane of existence was born from a bead of energy, controlling it means you control that plane of existence. But in Midranor there is no one who controls the bead of energy and therefor there is no control of the world. Surrounding the plane of Midranor of the elemental planes of fire, wind, earth and water. Since there is no protection from these planes they regularly clash into each other leading to tsunamis of fire and mountains sprouting of up out of nowhere.   For all of its difficulties the people of Midranor have grown strong. When the gods of the other planes of existence came to conquer Midranor they faced a battle they never would have imagined. Out of the millions of people of Midranor a few stood above the rest, the ones that would be called heroes. Individuals who could take a hit from the gods and give just as much straight back. Year 0 of current time was when Midranor made the other planes of existence fear them.
The sky was dark and clouds where threatening to turn the battlefield into a swamp. No one knew that the battle would end before it had begun. As the scouts looked out across the field they could see the swarms of angels ready to strike. Suddenly a bright light lit up the sky as if the sun had fallen through the clouds and the ground quaked. As the ground quaked and the light shone its blinding light the air became warm and started igniting the trees. A minute later all that remained was a crater and a dead god.
