Reaping

Harvest festival of Melnea. The festival name has three connotations: reaping of the fall harvest for storage over winter; ancient Melnean raiders (and the even more fearsome Melnibonean raiders before them) were known as reapers - and the holiday harkens back to Melnea's more violent past; the months between Reaping and Midwinter are thought to be the time when souls were weighed by the chaos gods and marked for death in the coming year.
