Last Ships Sail the Krakens Bones

The decline of relations between the Meleans and the Dwarf Holds a furthered by destruction of their trade routes across the deep sea trench which became known as the Krakens Bones.

The rich shipping lane between northern Melnea and the Dwarf Holds to the East became taxed as ships began to sink along all the northern trade routes. Relations between the Dwarf Holds and Melnea, always strained due to fundamental philosophical differences, were further estranged as diplomatic parties were lost along with goods of dwarven forged mail and elvish weapons, along with food, drink and raw materials. Each side began to suspect the other, all the while viable sea routes between Melnea and the East dwindled until only the most northern and the most southern route remained. The norther route, extending from [Ouvo] the Jewel of the Northern island of [Skyer] finally fell as the last ships were lost to the trench now known as the Krakens Bones.   Moving forward the relationship between the Dwarven nations and Melnea essentially ceased as travel beteween the two became nearly impossible.
