Shadows in the Harbor Session 26

General Summary

Get to Da Castle!

The party raced to the castle. A scared middle aged woman stopped them in the fog amidst the screams. She recognized the party as a group of adventurers and hoped they could help her. She and her three children were terrified of the marauding pirates and requested the party's aid in finding shelter. Tim the Not-so-Tiny, seeing that they were close to their new home, guided the woman and her brood to their house. He told her to lock the door behind them as they continued to Hardingham Keep.   They raced through the fog-ridden streets, hoping to not encounter additional raiders. They could hear the screams of innocents around them, but they knew they had an objective to achieve. The greater good depended on it. Just then a burning building came crashing down into the street on top of them! Tim and Damakos deftly maneuvered and muscled for rank. The Tiefling could practically see the trajectory of falling debris and was able to time his movements with all the precision of a dancer to avoid the falling timbers. Tim, meanwhile, weaved and parried his way through like the tank he is. Baron Deeplight tried his best to immitate Tim's physical prowess, but a lifetime of noble pursuits left him unable to replicate the feat, and he took injury on the way through. Keck did his best, but failed miserably, to dodge the flames. Malark, seeing the last ditch effort by the rest of the party, rallied himself and pulled his compatriots out of the wreckage and to safety.   They could see the keep in the distance through the fog; a few dim torch lights managed to pierce the unnaturally thick cloud bank. Finally, they arrived. The party entered through the now familiar gates and immediately sought out the Viscount. It didn't take long to find him.   Viscount Montgomery Silverbane, accompanied by his guards, Sheriff Aldar Duskstone, and Deputy Alyce Dorgonn approached the party.   Keck and Tim greeted Viscount Silverbane with respect; the Viscount greeted them shortly, he was facing a crisis afterall. Keck told the noble about the plot on his life and how they had found instructions on the body of one of the pirates. The Viscount informed them that he would be quite safe here in the Keep and that seemed good enough for the party. They asked if there was anyone that could assist them, a wizard perhaps. The Viscount thought about it for a moment and begrudgingly gave up the name Vaelin Stormbringer, a battle mage in his employment. He admitted that he could be difficult to work with, but that he could likely be found at the mage's guild.   Armed with this new information, the party headed out into the growing fog to seek the help of the reluctant battle mage...
