S4: Barovian preparation for the road

General Summary

  • Within the household of Ismark and Ireena there is a debate, whether or not there is enough time for the burial of their father that recently passed away.
  • The long story of the recent incidents is that first Ireena started having dreams that a figure that matches the description of Strahd was visiting her. Since the dreams were intrusive the household took defensive measures and put garlic on doors, blessings, dreamcatchers and any other mean natural, supernatural, cult and occult. Eventually things gotten worse as Ireena woke up outside after a horrible nightmare with bite marks on her neck. In response to that she locked herself in. That is when things got even worse, the howling started, wolves scratching the doors and awful calls in the night of "meet my fiance". Later their father had a heart attack, leaving Ismark as the new mayor.
  • The party tries to figure out the way back to Waterdeep, and they are told there is no way out of Barovia "nobody leaves Barovia, the mist doesn't allow anyone to leave". More information might be on the way out towards Wallachi across the Ilvis River at the Tser Pool.
  • Frank and Ains go to Bildrath's Emporion where they haggle, sell and buy stuff from Bildrath.
  • On their way to the church Alistair and Ramzee find a house filled with zombies.
  • Everyone gets together and clears the house of zombies.
  • Another mystery on the way as a crying lady is desperate and won't stop sobbing in one of the houses. After many attempts to get her to meet the party and eventually doing so, we were told she is called Mad Mary and she has lost her mind ever since she lost her daughter Gertruda.
  • Ismark and Ireena catches back to everyone and decides to go to the church with the coffin for the burial with the help of Father Donavich.
