Pyrite

The Pyrites are a highly advanced model of what are called Living Constructs (in the common tongue), Living Constructs themselves being advanced clockwork golems. Living Constructs were created by the Underdark races to protect against the dangers there and eventually a few models were appropriated by House Cannith. There artificers and inventors deconstructed them bit by bit for their secrets and young artificer, Pygmalion Cannith, tasked with improving the Living Constructs was able to give them true sentience. This was the first Pyrite, whom he called Galatea, and his creation of her changed Vilhum Du and House Cannith forever.   The Pyrites take their name from the mineral of the same name, also known as Fool's Gold. Gold is representative of the soul and the Pyrites are seen as many as being humanoid without having a real soul, thus false humanoids.
