Coming of age ceremony

For the Crienia people the ceremony marking a young member coming of age is an important event for the family and is also celebrated among family and friends of the family.   The focus on family can also be seen in some of the earliest activities done during the ceremony, like going on a hunt to bring back food for the family as a symbol of the family member now having to help provide for their current and future family.   Normally the ceremony takes place in the home of the family but sometimes the celebration spreads out into the street and then turns into an almost public celebration, this usually happens if a large number of young adults will be having their celebration the same month.

History

The earliest forms of the ceremony that it has been rediscovered is from a few centuries after the Crienia  was formed from the union between a group of humans and elves and it involves going on hunts and coming home with a worthy kill who would then be prepared for the feast. When the findings were published a resurgens of hunting as part of the ceremony began shortly after as the people were interested in rediscovering their roots since so much from back then had been thought to be lost to time.
