Moon Priesthood

All over the continent of Mirateia, temples are dedicated to the moon. In the Empire of Dercia, these are known under the name Lunar Custodians. These temples are devoted to worshipping the moon and studying how it influences the world's magic, its effects on specific crops and prophecy. 
The temples are typically split into two central bodies, with the priesthood being those that take care of the temples, support the visitors and such, with the clerics being those that go out into the world, both to bring new followers also to gather more knowledge of the world and its relationship with the moon, it is the clerics that are most likely to join the adventures that go out into the wilderness hunting monsters and the like.
The temples maintain a sacred lunar calendar to plan their lunar rituals.
According to the Lunar Custodians, the moon and its goddess enjoy a good relationship with both the goddess Mara and the goddess Lady of the Dark. While they are unsure why Mara and the moon goddess have a connection, and neither of the goddesses has said anything, they do understand why the Lady of the Dark and the moon enjoy a connection, as the moon has both a light and dark side that can both symbolise death and life. 
While its unconfirmed, some temples believe that the connection between Mara, the goddess of war and peace and the moon goddess stems from the fact that the majority of the healers in the legions of the Dercian Empire come from temples run by the Lunar Custodians.
