Ambassadors
Older adventures from "The Guild" who go un-chosen for the position of a Guild Master often are chosen to be ambassadors for either their home nation or the nation of their guildhall. Highly prized for their great linguistic, diplomatic, and negotiation skills. Setting aside their allegiance to the Adventurers' Guild and swearing loyalties instead for the nation they serve. These men and women start down a path where fighting through words rather than deeds, and considering physical combat to be the last option when it comes to reconciling differences acts as a figurehead for their country of origin. They settle into life as the faces of that nation's interest within the borders of another country.
Ambassadors tend to traffic in gossip and maneuvering themselves up the ladder of success, drawing others with them – or kicking them in the teeth and knocking them back down. With enough time and hubris, some come to think of themselves as the “voice of a nation,” for those dealing with the likes of them it is best to remember that they are generally extremely skilled in social skills, quite vain and will always make sure they come out ahead in any deal.
Unlike the "Guild Master" The position of Ambassador is not appointed by the Guild Alliance, but rather comes from an appointment of sorts from the nation in which the Ambassador is from or the nation of the guild he/she belongs to. It is a title that is given to those adventurers who show skill at gathering, spreading, and using information and debts to make or break a person place in the world.
Ambassadors are both feared and trusted. They seem to be unusually aware of dirty little secrets, crimes committed (even in other cities) and if they have a mind to, they are able to raise adventures to the heights of legend or to destroy their reputation forever. Refusing an Ambassador could assure one a place at the bottom-most rung of the ladder for years to come.
