Journal Entry #4 - The Journal of Flaik Fortearan 4717-12-12

General Summary

On the deck, both Ali and Rita work in tandem to destroy each of the remaining elemental boulders that were grown upon the hull of the ship. With one last boulder remaining Ali is called away to assist Flaik with attempting to resurrect the release Wind Elemental leaving the last remaining weight on the ship in Rita’s more than capable hands. In the helm, Hadarai and Koa activate the controls for the emergency wings and sails. The billowing sails act as an air brake slowing your speedy descent to the ocean below. During this brief moment of joy the helm silently with machine-like precision reconfigures to produce two control stations both of which would be required to wrangle this ship in mid-flight.   Below decks, Flaik now joined by Ali determine that the Elemental has not perished but was released when the mage who had been controlling it was slain. Seeing no means to resummon the elemental they rush back to the bridge to rally one last time. Arriving on the deck Ali sees Rita carving away at the wooden railing of the ship to dislodge the final rock. In a flash, a brilliance she calls upon her new asuran abilities as the illusion placed upon her by the guild mistress fades away Ali stands with a radiant Warhammer in hand and strides confidently towards the final stone.   Flaik arrives to see the helm transformed there are two locations now both appearing to be of equal import to keep the ship aloft. Seeing Flaik arrive in the helm Koa heads below the deck to attempt to fix what she can before she gets too far Flaik starts to hand her a bolt that he beings to imbue with the ability to cast feather fall, but it would take too long and that’s just not time that the group has now. A flash of light briefly illuminates the helm window, both Hadarai and Flaik witness Ali stride forward toward the boulder with a Warhammer in hand and begin to hammer away at the stone. Emboldened by the sight Hadarai briefly summons his Guardian Spirits thinking he could protect the ship as he had done with his new-found allies but as they being to flitter about him they begin to cut and scape at the panels within the helm he tries to protect the ship but they care not for the ship and he is forced to let them go lest cause more harm than good.   Below decks Koa finds that the damage is extensive desperately searching for any member of the skeleton crew or at the very least your Guild Mistress. Around the hallway leading to the escape pods you find her desperately holding up a wall of force allowing one of the two gunners to drag the other across a destroyed section of the hull sweat pours from her brow. Holding her up is the cook he sees you and says “somehow she is maintaining other walls elsewhere she’s keeping us from flying apart”. As the ship beings to level out it’s clear the efforts of the others have saved you all from crashing into the ocean. The cook look to Koa tears streaming down his face she now sees that his hands are covered in blood and the guild mistress is pale and hunched over. The air begins to rush into the corridor evidence that the wall of force has gone down. You witness the cook franticly place her down onto the wooden floor he attempts to revive her he must have some training, but his action prove to no avail. As you see him sit on the wooden floor you see him mouth “It should have been me” with he lifeless form in his lap.   In Koa’s head she hears Ali “ Koa we got the ship leveled out. Hadarai and Flaik are figuring out the controls. How is everything down there what needs to be fixed down there?” Holding back tears the only words you are able to reply are “ The Guild Mistress”…
