General Summary
The Adventures Guild is a legendary league of explorers, archeologists, and adventurers dedicated to discovering and chronicling the greatest mysteries and wonders of an ancient world beset by magic and evil. Anyone wishing to join must present themselves at the gates of the Adventures Guild's Hall of Heroes in the city of Auria in the nation of Namine. While the guild does not discriminate by race, age, creed, alignment, or motivations they do require that the applicants are able to speak and write in common at the least. Early in the first month of the new year the Adventures Guild holds the exam that an applicant must pass, before accepting them into the Guild. Experienced (and often retired) Guild Members test new applicants, for this reason the actual test tend to be very hard, many end up dead or handicapped. The expectation of the guild that these Examiners are to trim the fat and eliminate all the weak applicants that aren’t worthy of being an Adventure leaving only those with the true talent of being a part of the Adventures Guild. Over the next two weeks all of those in attendance are tested out of the thousands that participated ( 3,500 approx.) you all are five out of the seventy people to pass, and have earned the right to be licensed adventures on behalf of the Mercantile association, and the adventures guild.The five of you venture around the city to speak with the various guilds and merchants that have set up around the festival you get the odd sensation of being followed. It could be that your still on edge from the test, you mind harkens back to a tense moment during the test, but you can't seem to escape the feeling of being watched. Settling down for the evening be it for a meal or for bed, you find a letter dropped off in your room, or on your plate as the waitress drops off your meal. In your native tongue the letter reads." " At the bottom of the letter is signed [[Laeral Arunsun]] guild master of the [[Grey Hands]] With their guild symbol next to her signature. Outside of where you are staying a carriage waits. Its unassuming in its design save for the fact that it lacks a horse or driver, its reigns however seem to be suspended in the air were a driver should be and on occasion the dry dirt of the ground stirs as if a horse was present. The inside of the carriage is lined in a gray colored wood, its seats are of a grayish animal skin that you’ve never seen before. A single arculyte crystal hangs at the center of the cabin providing light and also warmth to the inside of the cabin. The carriage will arrive at dawn and wait out front of wear the Pcs are until the city begins to stir then it will head back to the [[The Arcanamirium]] in the Wise Quarter in the Southern portion of the city. The carriage takes about fifteen minutes to arrive at its destination. It takes the most direct route possible from the Pcs location, allowing it to be easily followed although it outpaces the pc by ten feet every round.
At the heart of the Wise Quarter sits a three story tall building surrounded by a twenty foot wall. The building itself is windowless, and its exterior appears to be made from a single piece of onyx. No matter the direction you approach form there is a gate waiting for you, stepping closer to the gate causes it to open. A voice welcomes you, and asked you to enter. The surface of the stone shifts and the outline of a door can be made out from its surface with light coming from inside the building.Inside the building the Pcs are greeted by a cloaked figure, she offers to take their things if they brought any and sets them on hooks on the wall to the left of the entrance. Once they are safely put away she asks you to follow her and takes you all to the parlor where breakfast will be brought to you all.
Sitting at a large table is a young woman with silver hair and flowing gray dress that pools about the floor. She takes a moment to glance up from a few papers that she has scattered about the table to ask you all to please take a seat, she introduces herself as Laeral Arunsun head mistress of The Arcanamirium, and guild mistress of the gray hand.The Grey Hands pay for the travel and training of the new party. Over the course of three years the party learns to ply their trades with professionals across Theros. Upon thier return they are assinged to act as additional security for the Swallow Tail Festival in the town of Sandpoint.
