Îksaira

Îksaira

Overview

The Îksaira is the leader of the entire Niranni world, the most holy figure on the face of the planet.

Etymology

The term comes from old Ingharan and means "one who has mandate."

Requirements

In order to hold the position of Îksaira, one must first have been crowned Îksare. Îksare is the position of any emperor who has the Îlsairi bloodline, that is to say, descended from the first Îksaira Aremi. Prior to Aremi, the term Essura was used of similar meaning. Nowadays, Essura marks any Niranni emperor without the Ilsairi bloodline such as emperors of the first dynasties or usurpers. Any Îksare who rules with high esteem is then designated as an Îksaira, a term used for only the most prosperous and successful of emperors.

Cultural Significance

Religion
The position is the most revered among the Niranni, due to the fact that the member is the head of the Îlsairi clan; the Ilsairi clan are important due to the fact that it is widely accepted that the leader Aremi was a demigod and avatar of the god Anetos.
Culture
The position is revered culturally as emperors are expected to be paragons of virtue, guardians of their people, and patrons of those in their domain.

History

Basic History

During the first dynasties such as that of the Ahai, the rulers would use the title Akerai, which means "King." This title was eventually eclipsed by Iksare during the Ilsairi Ketsing.
The first king to take the title of Iksare was that of Aremi, who became the first emperor to use that title, although it was declared that the previous Isshilu dynasties were emperors posthumously.

Famed Iksairae

The title has not been in use properly since that of Atshara, the great warlord. Prior to that, the most famed Great-Emperors were Ilumi, Aremi, and posthumously Usorring.
