Overview

The City of Lileanen, or Lilea'cii, is a city located in the northern reaches of Ischarra. It is renowned for being the capital of the Kingdom of Ischarra and has been firmly in the control of the Ilsairi ever since it was founded centuries ago.

History

The site of the location of Lileanen has held various small settlements over the years due to its strategic location at the mouth of the river Nissara (Winter's River). In the days of the Soranni Ilsairi Dynasty, the Ischurri would meet here to conduct raids and campaigns against their neighbors. Many years after the fall of the great Ilsairi dynasty, the last remaining members of the family would leave and take refuge at a village near to Lileanen's site called Anniste (Old-Town). Many years later, one warlord named Ilsairi dai Atshara would bring his village to war his neighbors and formed a fledgling state in the north of Ischarra. The rest of the clans of Ischarra opposed him and marched on Anniste; the battle would happen at a place called Lilea'rin (Lily Marsh). The Ilsairi force hid among the trees in a way that meant the enemy could only run into the river. Atshara began the ambush and ordered his son Dirai to fire at the horsemen using a new weapon they called the Arkhasil. These fire lances spooked the horses of the enemies and they lost control. Many men tried fleeing across the river, but they were trapped on the peninsula with nowhere to go. In the end, it was a decisive victory and tribes far and wide would swear fealty to Atshara.
On the site of Lilea'rin, the city of Lilea'cii would be built. The town would grow over time as the seat of the monarch moved to a small palace on a hill overlooking the town. The town would grow to be moderately sized, a small port being built to regulate trade from the north.
