Symbols of Anevia

Symbols of Anevia

Overview

Symbols of the Anevia faith vary, but often many are simply in origin artifacts that become placed in motifs or on banners.

Symbols

Symbols are the most formal and recognizable things associated with the faith, listed below are symbols often associated with the Kirrentai.
Sabbran
The Sabbran, or Nusa, is a symbol that is associated with the reign of Emperor Areshae as his personal banner, prior to being adapted and used as the symbol of emperor Yuushen. Its use under emperor Yuushen is what caused it to spread to places like Immestrai where it could be found. The symbol was seen by Atshara in his youth, and so he adopted it, leading to it becoming found in Ischurrai as well. The symbol itself symbolizes many things, from stars to healing to life. Under ancient healers like Naami of Miavia, the symbol was found as her sigil and as such it became associated with healing.
The most common single Sabbran is found at the bottom of the spear of Atshara. Atshara's spear features a Sabbran cross on the bottom of the spear, which was made of pure gold. Although the spear is long since destroyed, the head and base of the spear are saved in the royal palace in Ischurrai along with his spear.
Tairai
The Tairai is the largest symbol of the faith and of the dynasties, it being the sun. The Kirrentai usually uses a sun banner during times of peace, with it being symbolic; the warmth of the sun spreads across all the lands. The sun is found in flags as a symbol of divine favor all over, such as in the flags of Soranna, the Laus, Koisha, et cetera.
In terms of veneration, it has become a common motif on clayworks and other pieces of art. It is commonly found carved into the cornerstones of houses as a way to hope for warmth and blessing.
Tailu and Inlu
The Tailu (Great Moon Symbol) and Inlu (Lesser Moon Symbol) are two symbols used primarily in Niranni cultures as a way to espouse belief for the pagan practices of the realms. The moons are seen as Ingharan, and as a result are often associated with monasteries rather than temples under the Kirrentai.
Vensaira
The Vensaira is the primary symbol of the royal Ilsairi family. The Vensaira, meaning a type of phoenix, is a rare creature found primarily in the hills of southern Soranna, where it nests atop high cliffs. For this reason, it is exceedingly rare and seeing one has become a symbol of luck and prosperity. The Vensaira as a result is exceedingly venerated.

Artifacts

Artifacts of Aremi
Artifacts concerning Aremi are incredibly rare to come across due to the nature of the end of his reign. In the end, Aremi simply vanished with many claiming to see a light rise to the sky that day; that is to say, he ascended to the heavens; it is for the reason of his ascension that his artifacts are highly revered and some have become symbols of legitimacy throughout the Ilsairi Ketsing's former territory.
