The Ilibai
Overview
The Ilibai are a subgroup of the Kirrentai who are known to be quite radical in their pursuit of the destruction of dark forces. The name Ilibai means "those within the grasp of heaven."
Principles
Founding Principles and Guidance
The Ilibai operate on the principles of the postulates, moral orders created by the philosophers of the Ingharan age that are meant to guide people towards moral lives.
Magic
The Ilibai are most vehemently opposed to any forms of magic that draw upon the manipulation of souls. They utilize themselves purer magic such as healing, elements, et cetera. They built their reputation off of hunting necromancers, abyss mages, and training those pure of heart to hunt them.
Enforcing the Kirrentai Law
The Ilibai are known as the enforcers of the Kirrentai due to the fact that they enforce their laws. They hold a unique power in the sense that they can investigate and persecute the high officials of the Kirrentai bar the head Il'azai.
History
The Ilibai were founded in 1358 when a group of Kirrentai officials met in Mofai and declared that the cults were a threat to the Niranni people, citing the blights that had happened previously. They gathered two hundred Kirrentai monk-warriors from all over Nirann who took a combined oath by shedding blood from their hand into a collective pot that they washed away with the pure waters from the river Sanne. The Ilibai, motivated by their devotion and belief, rode out in all directions to hunt cults to the dark gods and those who would practice dark magics. In their effort they would clear much of the dark magics from Soranna, Immestrai, Ithellenoi, Gentarien, Ischurrai, and Korthai.
