Vishen Mena

Vishen Mena

Overview

The Vishen Mena, officially known as the Vishen Mennari, meaning "The Fourty Blind," are a group of guards that guard the imperial mausoleum at Sura'ma'di.

Appearance and Weaponry

The elite fourty guard for which the organization is named wear entirely black robes that cover almost their entire body and their armor, as well as golden masks depicting blank faces that are sleeping; most notable thing about them, is that their masks have no eye holes but rather only nose holes. The additional recruits not included in the fourty wear robes of either pure red, blue, or purple depending on their skill in combat along with silver masks. The reason for this appearance is that they are meant to resemble Ulesai, a type of warrior spirit that seeks to preserve its honor after death.
They wield each a type of spear known as a Lucing, a crescent spear. It is most similar to a regular spear albeit with a crescent shaped blade at the end. They also have a flowing whiplike blade they keep on their left hip, along with a regular shortsword on their right side.

Abilities

Magical Prowess

The Vishen Mena are notoriously able to sense the location of other individuals around them due to their innate connection to the flow of the universe; it is through this logic that they need not eye slots in their masks.
The Vishen Mena are also able to cast most forms of magic, an ability that few have in their own.

Combat Skills

The Vishen Mena are trained for five years non-stop to become warrior elites that guard the tombs. They then train after that daily to hone their skills in archery, spellsword warriorship, and magecraft.

History

The Vishen Mena replaced the former imperial guard of the Mausoleum in around 230. Prior to that, the regular guard was used to guard the necropolis. The Vishen Mena survived the shattering and all other major events due to the isolated position of the region, the sacred site fueling their magic, and the elite soldiers themselves.

I love how they've connected to the universe, so they don't need to see.
