The Zissenza

Overview

The Zissenza are an organization under the Ischurri crown that consists of a wide variety of roles from censors, to spies, to thugs, to assassins and infiltrators. They are personally loyal to prince Sivirri, who drafted and created them in 1564 based on legends of assassins and spies from ancient Soranna. They primarily are charged with the elimination of corrupt officials and criminals.

Roles

Censors

The censors of the Zissenza are charged with promoting the pro-Ilsairi view throughout the realm. They suppress any who would seek to write or speak out against the regime. They are charged with regulating education that the Kirrentai does ensuring that it does not engage in falsehoods about the monarchy.

Thugs and Enforcers

The Zissenza thugs are criminal families who are contracted by the Zissenza to do a particular action. They commonly are charged with helping root out other criminal families and bringing peace to an area for those who are just trying to work their lives.
The enforcers of the Zissenza are highly feared, moreso than the assassins. Enforcers are highly skilled martial artists and warriors that are excellent at sneaking around and negotiating with dignitaries and rulers. They are the elites of the organization that root out corruption, enforce the law, and eliminate targets.

Assassins

Infiltrators which specialize in the killing of targets are called assassins, these individuals are skilled at assasination (poisoning, traps, etc) but are typically less so at combat. They are used to silence corrupt and rebellious nobles outside of occupied realms, whereas enforcers typically operate in lands under Ischurri law.

Spies

Spies are any agents tasked with the gathering of information. These are the most numerous of the Zissenza agents.

Infiltrators

Infiltrators are the saboteurs of the Zissenza, who pave the way for other agents to achieve their goals; an example is an infiltrator disguising as a guard to let in an enforcer into a castle.

Ranks

Taissen

The Zissenza is headed by an individual known as the Taissen, meaning Grandmaster. The Taissen is chosen by the King, with the one in 1568 being that of lord Zissen of Immestrai.
