The Creation of the World and the Sealing of Erebus
Before time and before the world there were Tslav, Alitheia, and Mehlehkh. With one accord, Chaimor took their overflowing light and began to shape it. Tslav’s light became the soil and the rocks. He formed the land and shaped mountains with his will. Alitheia created the oceans, and rivers by cutting into the land Tslav had built. Finally, Mehlehkh shaped his light into the plants and animals that would populate the new world. And their creations pleased them.
The Three took counsel together and said “Let our children have dominion over this world. Let them create and live in our light.” So Mehlehkh chose the strongest, most beautiful tree in the world. He carved the tree in his image, with a strong body, and noble horns. He called them the Xylen and they were warriors.
Tslav created his people out of the earth, using stones for bones and dirt for flesh. From Tslav’s sculpting came man. Men’s role was to tame the beasts and wilds of the earth, to invent, and to adapt.
Using her light, ice, and stone, Alitheia gave life to the Viela. She gave them an innate understanding of light to accomplish magical feats. Formed to be hauntingly beautiful, with skin and feathers the color of the mountains, infused with the glow of the stars, and claws and teeth as pure as ivory.
And after their labors, the Light gave their children all of creation. The races explored Mirizel, learning, and enjoying the paradise Chaimor had given to them. With joy, they built the city of Iraeth. The city was dedicated in all its majesty to the Three, for their creation and the gifts they had been given. And Chaimor was filled with joy.
But Erebus, a Nalhesh, grew prideful and jealous of the Three’s power. He began to desire dominion over his brothers and sisters, so he worked in discordance with his creators. Erebus tempted the Viela to use the magic they had been given, a power used to glorify the Light, on others, an action forbidden by Chaimor. The hearts of those that listened hardened. They questioned why the Three would limit them from utilizing the full extent of magic. This idea spread and soon individuals from every race listened to Erebus. They twisted the light they had been given, imposing their will onto others with the intention of rivaling Chaimor.
Fear and doubt pierced the minds of the people and many fled the great city. But the Chaimor were infinitely stronger than their enemy. They scattered the army and sealed Erebus away in the depths of the world.
These events separated the Three from their children. They could no longer wholly remain in the world they had created, for their creations had turned away. Even those that fought by Chaimor's side were stained by doubt. But the Light is more powerful than this divide. They love, guide, and comfort every one of their children with an outstretched hand waiting to be taken in faith.
