Meanwhile: Find the key Report

General Summary

1488 DR - Fall - 9, Uktar (11) - Moonsea - Unnamed Ruin North of Phlan
We are introduced individually to two strange characters, both who are brought to heel and tamed by Sabyn Talmoth...   While the True War Crew are off finding their paths, Sabyn is busy uncovering dark secret magic.   Oudman
  • Oudman was an exile. A strange and intelligent hobgoblin who never really fit in with the larger social orders of goblinkind.
  • Oudman's desire to be apart from his tribe drove him to explore, and from there all of his memories are hazy. Somehow his path led him to be a prisoner, and guinea pig for a notable Red Wizard of Thay.
  • Under the wizards testing, he was exposed to a myriad of dark magic, most notably affecting him was water from the river styx. This imbued him with some manner of magical ability beyond his races normal aptitude in addition to wiping his memory to a severe degree.
  • Fallen-tree found his revenge, murdering the entire household and wizard in which Oudman had been held captive, but miraculously missing the basement, where Oudman was imprisoned.
  • Sabyn was searching for something within the mansion, discovering Oudman there, helpless and left to die. She released him, but only after being oathbound in a mystical manner, and set him on a path she defined.
  • Oudman struggles with his life being largely forgotten memories, but with occasional flashes of remembrance. He is loyal to Sabyn and her cause through the binding, and has yet to find his own purpose.
Zul
  • Zul Amnissos was wild and feral, even among his tiefling kin. Being descended from Baphomet instilled him with animalistic rage and instincts, but also a demons charm.
  • Zul lived wild as a beast until his teen years, when he learned the common tongue and found ways to exploit humankind for his personal gain.
  • He established some followers, believing him to be a demon gods heir, and soon became a well-established bandit tride, disguised as cult with the higher purpose of Zul's ascension. The followers were both being used by, and using him, to further their selfish goals.
  • Sabyn discovered this cult, and confronted Zul, who in true fashion denied her outright and threatened her death. She subdued Zul handily, and murdered his entire cult of over 100 followers. Leaving nothing but him alive.
  • Sabyn forced him into submission, and bound him by blood oath and dominance to serve her, and her ends now, instilling him with a new higher purpose and belief through visions.
Meanwhile:
  • Zul and Oudman are brought together through clouded commands. Zul takes the lead.
  • On the road they are ambushed by goblins, and they find a small twisted statuette reading "Abigor in chains" and a note from Sabyn telling them to head to the town.
  • They head to the inn where they are to meet her, but instead find only a town asking for help with a goblin problem.
  • They agree to help only because it seems to be Sabyns wish, and take a heavy tax to do so.
  • Waiting until night, they spot and intercept a goblin ambush, with Oudman outright murdering the orc leading the band in a single violent slash.
  • They proceed to decimate the rest of the goblins, but tie one up and follow him to their lair.
  • The goblin leads them to the lair, where they find what should have been a trap and instead is occupied by Sabyn who has been waiting for them.
  • She takes the statuette, and leave. Only to return later with a similar statuette, only the figure is not longer chained, and only reads "Abigor"
  • The wall is found to be an entrance to some kind of maze, and they enter and separate from Sabyn, following her lead in exploring this area to discover that which she seeks.
