Erebus, Judge of the Dead
Erebus is the Judge of the Dead, and holds his court in Limbo. Erebus is the most impartial and neutral creature in the known universe, and therefore the best fit to be a fair judge.
The Court of the Dead is assisted by The Advocate, a Spirit who is neutral in all matters of good, evil, law, and chaos, but is also the most partial creature in existence. The Advocate loves everyone like a brother or sister, and as such will fight tooth and nail for the mortal being judged.
In addition to judging the dead, Erebus is the judge whenever parties in the Afterrealm have a dispute. Gods with differences are able to bring their case before the Court, and Erebus will make a fair ruling. Often enough, this ruling is "You are both being petty and shall both be punished", so while gods can put forth their case, these are few and far between.
Due to Erebus' ability to punish even other gods, he may be the most powerful creature in existence. Despite this, he has few clerics in the Material Realm, as he does not dole out power lightly. Anyone wishing to become a cleric of Erebus must swear an oath of impartiality and renounce ties to all countries and organizations on the material realm. They are still allowed to have friends, allies, and compatriots - they are still mortal, after all - but clerics are still forbidden from taking any action that is not for the express purpose of maintaining balance.
