Reincarnation

Reincarnation is a unique ability largely restricted to ivierae. Though reincarnation is possible in other life forms, it’s really only ivierae who are able to be reborn in the same body.
Lord Uvie created this gift after he ascended to godhood, understanding how much the ivierae were struggling during the Human-Ivierae War.
The gift radically altered an ivierae’s way of living. Even though most get to experience life more than 100x on average, it hasn’t made many jaded to life or simply taken to granted. This process has actually given most a deeper appreciation for the cycle of life and death, and the enjoyment of small things in life. Many ivierae choose to celebrate birthdays from previous lives, and a multitude of holidays came about just from reincarnation.
A list of holidays related to reincarnation:
-Garden retreat: community-wide celebration where ivierae come together in spiritual gardens and meditate to learn more about their past lives and connect with Uvie. -Rebirth celebration: A global holiday for all ivierae to celebrate rebirth together. -Reincarnated harvest: A more somber holiday to remember the lives lost during the Human-Ivierae War, before the elves started reincarnating. It’s celebrated around the harvest seasons as those were also particularly rough times for the ivierae when humans would burn their crops and steal their food. -Karmic quest: A fun holiday for young elves, organised by parents and guardians alike. Often includes a treasure hunt for individual ivierae to find out bits and pieces of their previous past life. Normally celebrated on an individual level, but can be celebrated in groups if the elves are within the same age group. -Reincarnation Symposium: A holiday where ivierae all around the community come together to talk about their past lives together. Those who study reincarnation will often also talk to community members about the magic behind it, as well as historians talking about notable times in history when someone was reincarnated. -ROP song fest: A global holiday organised by communities where community members are encouraged to sing their ROP songs from previous lives. The celebration can last weeks at a time.

Effect

A dead ivierae coming back to life after dying, effectively being reborn as they revert back to a baby.

Memory loss of previous life, and potential for serious mental health problems when remembering.

Manifestation

The corpse with glow a bright white while they’re being revived and having their age reversed.
