Geertz Medical Corporation

Geertz Medical Corp. is the most prominent medical technology and pharmaceutical company in the system. Contracted to aid the development of the Martial colonies in return to exclusive rights to use them for medical research, Geertz retains a near-monopoly in the medical industry everywhere in the system except Earth, whose major medical corporations managed to survive the competition from Geertz, and Mars, on which Geertz is explicitly forbidden (in both the UFMC and SHR) from operating or doing business. Somewhat notorious for the unethical medical experiments performed in the Martial colonies prior to independence, many people in the system have tried and failed to start medical corporations to rival and offer alternatives to Geertz.
