The Med Bay
"It's not pretty, and it sure as hell isn't ideal, but it's the closest thing I've got to home out here. And hey, sure beats the back of an ambulance, right?"
-Ship's medic Galatea Giannou Koros, crewman's log
The med bay is one of the more spacious facilities on the CSV Minerva III, and one of the least used--two factors which have combined to render it a haphazard mess of medical equipment and ill-advised storage. The room is dominated by a Geertz Medical Corp. Automated Emergency Medical Pod (AEMP), which does double duty as a surgery table and machine which can provide general medical attention--crude and limited though it may be--in the absence of a medical professional. The far wall contains the medical supply storage shelves, while the sternside wall houses the sink and other sanitation equipment. Aside from a computer terminal on the prowside wall and a small camping stool that migrates around the room, the rest of the medbay is filled with various crates, boxes, and loose oddities. It has been described by the ship's medic as "an absolute biohazard of a room", but no one has gotten around to reorganizing and cleaning it out.Purpose / Function
To provide a space for the storage of medical supplies and administration of medical aid and routine healthcare.
Design
The room, taking up about 200 square feet, with an unusually high 8 foot ceiling, is centrally located on on the port side of the ship, right up against the hull, on level 2. It is shaped like a rectangle, with one door leading in from the hallway, and one from the adjacent storage closet.
Sensory & Appearance
The room simply reeks of antiseptic.
Denizens
Though this room remains unoccupied most of the time, its most common occupant is the ship's medic, Galatea Koros.
