The Ring of Words is a magical item of jewellery that gives the wearer the ability to perfectly understand, read, write and speak a different language of that wearer's choice. However there is a catch: the understanding of that language is not added to the wearer's linguistic abilities, but rather a trade is made with the wearer's mother tongue.
