Roamer's Spear

The spear is the traditional weapon of the Desert Elves, who are considered masters of the fighting form. The Roamer's Spear is wielded by the Monarch of the Elves, and is as much a ceremonial item as it is a tool of combat.   Traditionally, the monarch is always the first to enter battle. Although the Roamer's Spear was not crafted to be a magical weapon, it became infused with magic over centuries of use fighting xarthi and Mages. Now the most powerful known magical weapon in the Five Realms, it is instrumental in keeping the Lord Elder from gaining more ground in Ekhanua.

Context

Desert Elves

Traditionally a nomadic people, the Elves in the realm of Ekhanua were peaceful guides of mortals until the Lord Elder from the realm of Jitua made a bid for power in their realm. To stop him the Elves assumed authority over their realm and today are warrior protectors of the mortals.

Xarthi

A mortal species used by the Lord Elder to enact his will in his home realm of Jitua, over which he has full control, and the realm of Ekhanua, which he aims to fully conquer. Their roles vary from administrators and enforcers of the law (in Jitua) to soldiers and assassins. They do not travel to the other realms, as the Lord Elder has subtler methods of control at his disposal which he considers better suited for Alterra and Hjemtir.

Mage

Mages are extremely powerful Jituan mortals marked as such from birth, recruited and brainwashed by the xarthi to work for them (i.e. the Lord Elder). Mages are intensely trained in magic from childhood and, though they live in wealth and luxury, typically die before middle age from magical exhaustion.
