Idia
The Tamer, Guardian of the Groves
Idia is said to guard good folk who walk through her forests, sending her Chosen to provide a gentle nudge away from danger when necessary. Her every step is said to cause the earth to rejoice, with flowers sprouting and plants thriving in her wake.
Winter: A stag made only of bone, and a rider bearing a pure white cloak that drags through the snow.
Spring: A young buck, its coat shining and new, ridden by a figure cloaked in blossoming wildflowers.
Summer: An unshorn stag with a rack of antlers so large it touches the clouds. Its rider wears a cloak of lush green grass.
Fall: An unkempt stag without its antlers, ribs showing through its thin coat. The figure on its back bears a cloak of red, orange, and yellow leaves that fall to the ground in its wake.
One of Idia's main group of followers is a group of bards and druids dedicated to protecting the wilder areas of Mistral. They call themselves the Song of the Seasons, and can be found mainly on Ishval.
When Warden was Chosen, Idia bestowed upon her the protective aspects of the Tamer. She represents Idia's love for the forest and its denizens, and was thought to protect everything from the smallest of squirrels to the largest of dinosaurs from harm by the mortal races.
Description
Said to always appear as a stag the size of a roc and its rider. Those who have caught glimpses of the Tamer are unsure whether Idia herself is the stag, the rider, or somehow both. Her dominion over the seasons is reflected in her appearance as well - the form of the goddess shifts to match the season of the land she walks.Winter: A stag made only of bone, and a rider bearing a pure white cloak that drags through the snow.
