Strose
The capital of the Eskan Empire is sprawling and immense, with grand architecture that immediately draws the eye to its main feature - the floating platforms that house the upper echelons of Eskan nobility.
Hightower District
The floating neighbourhoods that loom over the city are known as the Hightower District. They are home to the highest born members of the Eskan Empire, and are inaccessible to the general populous except by invitation. The buildings all have unique architectural styles, with each new structure more ornate than the last.The Glass Palace
On the central platform of the Hightower District sits the Palace, the crowning jewel of Strose. A towering structure built almost entirely of glass, the home of the Emperor and his family is breathtaking in its splendor. It is especially impressive at sunrise and sunset, when the glass panels catch the light and refract it across the city far below.Demographics
Unlike most of the Eskan Empire, its capital is a melting pot of races from all across Mistral. Its bustling harbour, chaotic markets, and mess of winding streets mean that you can find a unique face everywhere you turn.
Though Eskans will claim that all individuals have equal rights to owning land and titles, the nobility of Strose are made up of almost entirely humans. There are one or two halfling or dwarven families, but those who are granted entry to the Hightower districts will find them to be woefully lacking in diversity.
Government
Though Strose is formally ruled by the Emperor of Eska, the majority of political and economic decisions are made by his High Council.
Infrastructure
The floating platforms that hold Strose's Hightower district aloft are supposedly powered by the combined efforts of Eska's most powerful mages, who infuse gems imbedded into the base of the platforms. These platforms are only reachable by one of two ways: the mechanical lifts beneath the platforms, or through use of infused Levitation Stones.
