Baethyr - the Mind Lasher

This is my 5E version of the monster presented in the Fatherless Multitude available at Lythia.com and written by Rob Barnes.

Some customized Monster Stat Blocks I use on Roll20 VTT.

The Baethyr is an aquatic horned serpentine Ivashu measuring eight to twelve feet long and eight to ten inches thick. Its vision is relatively poor but has an excellent sense of smell and hearing as well as the ability to detect movement in water.

This Ivashu has a dangerous bite; however, its favorite attack is a powerful psionic Mental Bolt used to subdue prey. Survivors of this psionic attack report a sudden, devastating headache and sometimes dizziness and nausea. Many lose consciousness.

The Baethyr preferred habitat is dark waterways and flooded caverns. They are usually solitary with a life span of up to 50 years.
