Rituals of the Priests of Naveh

Much of the inspiration and details was developed from Colombia Games information.

Each Temple of Naveh is equipped with a central reliquary. This is usually made of obsidian and on which holy relics, holy books, and religious paraphernalia are stored. This has a sinister aura, merely looking at imparts dread and the sound of a slow heartbeat can be heard when close.

Dark rituals and performed on this bench and example rituals are detailed below.

History

It is believed these rituals were brought to Hârn by one of the revered fifteen prophets Taurin Halfhand during the latter stages of the Atani Wars around the time of the Battle of Sorrows.

Execution

Talons of Gekrish

This ritual designed to increase the lethality of the Temple Assassins Long Knives. The knives can become sharper and deadlier for the next mission, with any benefit lasting 24 hours. Alternatively, if a victim is named (such as during the Dezenaka ceremony) and this is engraved into the long Knife then the weapon becomes even more dangerous, but only to its intended victim.

Eyes of Kamil

This ritual requires blood or hair of a victim to summon an invisible Lesser Gytevsha which stalks them and report back information in the form of answers to three questions. If the victim is sleeping they may feel its presence in their nightmares.

If discovered the Gytevsha will flee and will only be able to answer one question. As Gytevsha are deceitful entities there is a small chance they will deliberately lie to the caster. Magic protections will likely ward against this monster.

Essence of Gekrish

This ritual increases the toxicity of substances especially poisons. Food becomes rancid, milk sour, and poisons harder to resist for 24 hours.

Soul of Gekrish

This ritual makes poisons deadlier for 24 hours.

Principle of Gekrish

A deadly ritual which enhances a poison with the elements of waking nightmares. Even if a victim is able to avoid the worst effects of a poison they will be subjected to a psychic assault which may well cripple them.

Components and tools

All rituals require a Ritual Spell Book, most commonly the Codex of Shadows and Death.
Some rituals require alchemical mixtures, some blood or hair of victims and incense.

Shadowmath

On the day and holy night of Shadowmath, the Night of Shadows a ritual users spells are enhanced.
