Scurgath - the Dragon Bird
The Scurgah is one of the few Ivashu that can fly.
After launching itself from a height the Scurgah glides using its membranes connecting its front and hind legs. It has four padded paws each with two long claws to climb trees and grasp prey. The head is hideous with small eyes, a hooked jaw filled with sharp teeth. Most strange is its enormous ears, these can hear the slightest footfall from great distances.
On the hunt it remains deathly silent as it glides from the trees targeting its preys head.
They are found in any forested landscapes.
Scurgath - The Dragon Bird
Echolocation:
The Scurgath has incredibly sensitive hearing but can't use its blindsight while deafened and makes them vulnerable to sound attacks. They are very hard to surprise and can hear most movement making sound-based perception checks at advantage.
Silent Attack:
The scurgah can silently glide and makes it attacks with stealth at advantage.
Forest Camouflage:
A scurgah has green skin giving it advantage to stealth checks when hiding among the canopy of trees.
Actions
Crush:
Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 2 (1d4) bludgeoning damage.
If hit and the target is medium or smaller size, the scurgah attempts to engulf the target's head. The target is blinded and unable to breathe. A target can avoid being engulfed by making a successful DC 13 Strength check.
The scurgah's speed also becomes 0 and moves with the target. The target can detach the scurgah as an action and after making a successful DC 13 Strength check. On its turn, the scurgah can detach itself from the target at will.
Paralyzing Poison:
The scurgan's under body has glands that excrete Paralyzing Poison.
On its next turn after engulfing a target the target must succeed on a DC 13 Constitution saving throw or be Poisoned for 1 minute. Until this poison ends, the target is Paralyzed and automatically hits with its crush attack. The target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the poison on itself on a success.
