Snow Elves - Hwæthârwyn

Much of this information derived from the Venârivè Module from Keléstia Productions.

The Hwæthârwyn or Snow Elves of the far northern reaches of Lýthia. Their homeland is believed to range from the Altin to the Muyarh Mountains. Snow elves are said to tread so lightly upon the snow that they leave no footprints.

Humans rarely see them. They closely resemble Harnic Elves, although they tend to be paler of skin, with light brown, blonde or white hair. Their eyes are usually blue or grey. They speak a dialect of the elven language Sindarin.

The Hwæthârwyn live in nomadic tribes, although they are believed to use semi-permanent settlements and well-hidden strongholds. They make use of Barasi Points or Holy Groves and occasionally visit their distant kin in the Kingdom of Evael on Hârn, although they find this "hot climate" not to their tastes.

The snow elves limit their contact with humans; however, they trade with a small number of Altic clans and individuals with who they have had long-standing associations.

Ice Glass

In the far north, the snow elves are known for their Ice Glass. This form of glassware is said to have been carved from a block of ice that will never melt. Items made of these materials often "magically" stores liquid and food at a cool temperature.

The Snow Elves also make weapons such as arrowheads, daggers, and long knives, out of this material. These are often enchanted.
