The Gently Winding Path
“The Gently Winding Path” is a style of unarmed combat used exclusively by the Peonian clergy.
The Path consists of technique, stances and manoeuvres designed to protect the user while not inflicting any real or lasting injury upon their opponent. It concentrates on dodging, twisting, unbalancing, holds, and throws designed to use an aggressor’s strength or mass against him.
The Path is inspired by the Principles of the three softer elements: earth, water, and air.
Earth - Practitioners are strongly rooted in the earth, immobile and resistant to even powerful force.
Water - Practitioners are fluid and adaptable.
Air - Practitioners are formless, and able to exert unseen force upon the opponent.
It is said that facing one skilled in this martial art is an exercise in frustration.
