The Hasern
A religious ritual of the church of Save K'nor. The Hasern resembles a study session having an objective to broaden the knowledge of its congregation. About half the Hasern ceremonies are open to the laity while those containing dangerous or sensitive knowledge are restricted to priests.
Hasen's are held when a temple Rowanti (Loremasters) decides that new or important knowledge needs to be shared.
A ceremony lasts 2 to 4 hours and is typically held in the evening. It will consist of the following.
The worshipers gather in the temple's hall of the ritual for a brief prayer, then a short lecture by one of the Rowanti.
The bulk of the ceremony consists of a seminar. This seminar, usually on new or interesting knowledge, can be on one or more topics and presented by a priest or even an expert member of the laity or an outsider. The subject can be of any topic including Magic, Science, Technology, Geography, the Metaphysical, Works of Art, Current Affairs, and Politics. After the lecture, questions may be allowed.
