The Wharfmaster's Office
The Wharfmaster's Office was once a stately building, when Mythrite was new and hopes were high. Sailors say that its rapid degradation to its current state of grime and mildew is caused by the corruption of those working inside, and it is hard to look at the slowly crumbling structure and not believe them. Still, the work of the docks must go on, and so the building remains a hive of activity of accountants, merchants, and Professionals trying to squeeze the most money out of their trades.
While everyone refers to the dilapidated building as "The Wharfmaster's Office," there hasn't been a Wharfmaster to run the place since the first, who stepped down unceremoniously less than a year after the establishment of the office. Technically, the laws of the city call for another to take on the position, but for now, the Office is loosely run by the accountants who work there. With all the talk in The Brown Heron of corruption, the dockworkers and sailors are looking for someone to take the job of Wharfmaster who could represent their interests...
