Thieving Tunnel

Written by CelestialBomber

Plenty of people jest about a tunnel that connects the Residential Area, to the Stamp & Mill Refinery, goes under Charlemaine Hill, and even connects to the Service & Trades Corridor. These people claim about how much easier it would be to reach their places of work during the heavy rain or snow, if only this imaginary tunnel existed. Luckily, this tunnel exists, somewhat.   The Thieving Tunnel connects the Residential Area and Charlemaine Hill. Unfortunately, almost every person who knows has no good intentions. From the very start, there were a couple of people who had every intention of creating this tunnel and breaking into Charlemaine Hill, allowing for some nefarious plans. At some point, they succeeded. Inevitably, there were people who saw them. The few that were interested began using the tunnel themselves, and eventually, this spread with the rest of the shady people who would happen to stop by where its entrance was located.   The tunnel has only a couple of entrances and exits; all it takes is to encounter the right fake walls. As its name suggests, it was not uncommon for people to use this tunnel to commit some thievery. Others even had the gall to sell their stolen goods in this very tunnel. As long as too much wasn't stolen at once, and only a few things went missing at a time, only so much suspicion would be aroused. Charlemaine's gates mean nothing if the town guards patrol the outside. They might eventually tighten their security at the gates and the walls, but if the direct line in via tunnel isn't discovered, no good will be done if the guards can't spot the perpetrators entering and exiting.
