Thradgraeth Pebblethane
Thradgraeth Pebblethane came to Mythrite 10 months ago. In his mid 40’s, he is still a young adult by Dwarf standards. The lure of quick riches and adventure drew him from his lower middle-class dwarf home. Armed with a stout pickaxe and a double enchanted lamp helmet with a gold filter that can look a foot into rock Thradgraeth feels he will certainly do well in the new mines of Mythrite.
On his way to Mythrite, Thradgraeth made good friends with another dwarf from his hometown, Kronrum, also heading for adventure and riches. They had a great start, and both successfully fought off raiders. Kronum sealed his friendship to Thradgraesh by saving his life from a raider's blow. The two became all but brothers and they were excited to start their life in the new city.
The real world has been a wake-up call for Thradgraeth. While things started well, things didn’t stay that way. The riches have not come quickly and the dangers have been real. Within the first week, his friend Kronum severely injured his arm and leg by a cave-in and the Clerics of Mythrite seem to want an arm and a leg in order to heal his friend.
Right before the cave-in, Thradgraeth’s magic helmet lamp detected what could be a tunnel connected to a very large cache of gold and gems. However, it also detected great danger in that direction. He would have gone after the cache, but his injured friend combined with the “safety fee” for working in the mines have left him at an impasse for how to proceed.
