Menicean Calendar

This article will be expanded as more evenements are written.
The Menicean Calendar was invented at the very beginning of the Golden Age, by Kelyeran Asturac. Its year zero would correspond to the official end of the Clan War, even if it happened slightly earlier.

Structure

Each year has 10 months, straightforwardly named after their position in the list: 1st month, 2nd month... The first and last months have 38 days, the fifth and sixth have 37, and the rest have 36.   Meniceans only recognize two seasons in their calendar: the warm season, from the first to the fifth month, and the cold season, from the sixth to the tenth. Years begin at the same time as the warm season when plants and wildlife come back to life. This is perceived as the renewal of Giraun's blessing on the lands for another year by the Nelandrean Cult.

Weeks

Menicean weeks have eight days, each one related to an important theme of the Nelandrean Cult.

Prayers to Giraun and call to elements are done on Girsta. Likewise, those to Nelandra are generally done on Nelasta. The rest of the days have more of a symbolic naming:
  • The Queen and Kings are Nelandra's descendants, wardens of the realm.
  • Mothers and Fathers carry the seeds of the future.
  • The Sun is Giraun's left eye, the Moon is the right.
  • The Stars are Giraun's candles, enlightening his home that is the sky.
