Eight Faces
The Eight Faces are a religion based on an understanding of 0- The Fool and Moon Elves. The Faces believe that the self is a constant shifting thing and that embracing illusions, trickery, and even folly is the path to eventually discovering ones true self. The religion is difficult to understand from an outside perspective and many believe that the religion is simply a cover for street magicians and traveling fools to work together.

Structure
The Eight Faces are led by eight different leaders, one for each of the phases of the moon. The leaders are known as New Moon, Waxing Crescent, First Quarter, Waxing Gibbous, Full Moon, Waning Gibbous, Third Quarter, and Waning Crescent. They all wears masks and no one seems to know their real identity. Beyond that there seems to be very little leadership in organization, with each person’s authority seeming to shift as needed for the situation.
Culture
The Eight Faces are seen as basically a circus, a cult, or just plain strange. It does appear they are organized in some fashion or another from an outside perspective but when any attempt to understand them is made, they seem to change up roles as needed. They can also be seen as somewhat of a nuisance, as they love to perform pranks on those around them as a part of their worship. However, they are always willing to have parties and celebrations at random, making how they are perceived as shifting as their own goals seem to be.
Mythology & Lore
The religion is founded on the idea at 0- The Fool is constantly chasing after 18- The Moon, both in the litteral and figurative sense. They believe that 18- The Moon is ever shifting in order to hide and escape from 0- The Fool, and as such,0- The Fool is always shifting in order to try and find them. The process of the endless chase results in creating the ability for others to change themselves and allows for growth to happen as person. So, in order to make sure this is continued, the religion is following in the example of the two fates, adding to the overall change the world experiences so that others may be able to find their true selves. The existence of the Eight Faces then is to make sure 0- The Fool is never able to catch 18- The Moon.
Tenets of Faith
- One’s face, role, and path are adaptable. It is through trickery and play that we may teach or protect others, and by masking our true selves, we learn to wear many guises, drawing closer to hidden truths.
- Truth is fluid, and reality is shaped by perception. Embrace doubt and question the nature of existence, as the moon’s light shifts every night, revealing new aspects of the world.
- Darkness and light are partners in the cosmic dance, both revealing and hiding in turn. Learn to embrace both aspects of yourself—the shadowed and the illuminated.
