Catnip Dealing

Dealing with catnip is a phenomenon that occurs over time and works similar to drug dealing in the human world. The name comes from catnip or catmint, the first and most popular plant in the business. Through the years, other plants and treats such as valerian root or silver vine treats, sometimes even regular cat treats are being sold.

The first to discover this phenomenon was Brightest Heart, who had the idea of planting catnip in her garden in 215. With the help of Muffin, she established a small business where they would give neighborhood cats catnip in exchange for hunted food, treats, random "pretty" things to use for entertainment, or other favors.

Although Brightest Heart herself never transferred this knowledge and "business" onto the clans, it soon began to show there too, mainly because of the rare occurence of natural growing catmint in the Modern Clans' territory. It is still solidarily shared between medicine cats when needed, but other than that, possessing catmint in the Modern Clan and Future Clan era is highly uncommon. In the clans, the "currency" are mostly favors, or sometimes information about strategies or certain cats if the deal is between cats from different clans.
