Secondary Deputy

The secondary deputy(s.d.) is the third highest rank in the Ancient Clans.
Their responsibilities include:

• giving advice to the leader when asked to do so
• organizing patrols(hunting/border control)
• help the medicine cat out
• along with the leader and s.d.; evaluating the students at their final examination

When a secondary deputy dies, the primary deputy and leader choose a new one.
The s.d. may retire from their position under certain circumstances(age/illness/etc.), however they may not step down and go back to being a warrior.
The secondary deputy usually becomes the primary deputy after their death or when the old p.d. becomes leader. Then, the two immediately have to elect a new s.d. Exceptions can be made if the s.d. refuses to step up, in which case they stay in their position. In case the p.d. refuses to become leader, the s.d. will take that position.
