Yonara - The Honeyed Hills
“Sing to me the sweet song, of the happy hills where the halflings roam!”Yonara refers to the halfling town located west of Bend River. It is a sleepy town built between a split in the Voyager River, and has a lake to the south. Its main features are grassy plains and dirt roads and is primarily a farming village. Each hill has rotating crops all managed by different groups and residencies. Only two hills, the Glenfellow and Graspewalle Hills, are owned only by one single family. Being a primarily Halfling settlement, the people live a calm and quiet life, and are relatively peaceful with any and all groups they come in contact with. This has made for good relations with the local Akacheta group, as well as a small but active community of Father Moon devotees. There is a growing number of Mother Sun halflings devotees, but lack a structure to set up a society.A proposed anthem for the town.

Government
Mayor of Yonara is a halfling man named Sonya Bannoura. He leads the town along with the council of Yonara to guide the city on its every activities. The Council of Yonara, while not an officially registered body, are people who have earned a level of esteem from the local populace. They can advise the mayor on certain issues and are situated often in the Lobby of the Mayoral Office.
The Councilmembers of Yonara are elected every year from members of the populace, save for the Mayor who rules at the pleasure of the local Lord, Lord Melchior. Whenever issues of great import are needing decision making, the council meets to hear the issue, and then votes on how best to resolve it. Each council member then makes a decision, often based on at least a 3/5 vote. In the event of a split vote (2-2-1) a vote is then called by every former and current living council member (currently 27) to vote on the issue, and whoever's stance holds the numeric majority wins.
Should an issue include a current council member, they are not allowed to weigh in, but rather the Mayor chooses three former council members at random. These three then take the place of whomever is needed to resolve any issue.
