Fharyne Defense Fleet Sailor
Bless them Defense folks, I'm telling you they do their jobs better than the postmen do theirs. I've lived near the sea my whole life, and never have I gone so long without hearing a complaint about pirates, except for maybe when the Accord fell out of power. I don't think they're really getting the credit they deserve, if I'm being wholly honest. I mean, they seem to get into more scraps than the Navy folk ever do, but they rarely get any of that Fharyne Navy pomp. Surely it's dangerous as all get out to go sailing after pirates as often as they do, I can only hope that the Crown compensates them proper for it. You won't find me complaining one way or another though; no, I find I rather like this peace and quiet they've brought.

Career
Qualifications
Any member of the Fharyne Defense Fleet is required to take training in the Fharyne Naval Training Program, a grueling two-year course that teaches all the skills a sailor is liable to need while on the job. Experienced sailors and navy officers can skip this training if they pass a skill assessment.
Payment & Reimbursement
Defense Fleet sailors are paid equally to members of the Navy, with one distinct difference: they receive commission on every pirate vessel they defeat.
Perception
Purpose
The Fharyne Defense Fleet was organized for the sole purpose of wiping pirates out of Morova. It may be utilized during times of war to augment the Navy (as it is, technically, a subsidiary branch) but the two forces generally act seperately.
Social Status
The life of a sailor in the Defense Fleet is by no means an easy one, though it does have its benefit. Many of the more successful sailors are perceived as heroes, such as the infamous Captain Grey Ukazu. However, many citizens of Fharyn pay little attention to the Fleet's existence, and so the job may frequently seem thankless.
Operations
Tools
The uniform of the Defense Fleet is almost an inversion of the standard navy uniform: it consists of a light grey jacket, black undershirt, black neckcloth, navy trousers/breeches, light grey stockings/socks, and black boots/shoes. All sailors are also equipped with a good saber and two flintlocks, though many accrue additional weapons during their time in the service.
Alternative Names
