Deadgate

Deadgates are location in which the after world and living world touch. Thus deadgates can be used in various ritual and events involving the Afterworld. Its a location ghost can pass from the after to the living and vice versa. It can be used to separate soul from a body and are optimal burial grounds. It can be used to summon the dead or reanimate their remains. It can also used to kill. With the right circumstances it can even be used to allow the living to temporarily enter the afterword.
Most natural deadgates are temporary and fleeting. However, with death magic they can be temporarily summoned and used of various purposes. However with the prope ritual or sacrifice they can be made permanent. These permanent deadgate also grow in size and power the move they are used. THes permanent ones can also be create with the death goddess blessing.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The deadgate serves as a connection between the afterworld and living world. Thus a deadgate will alsway be on the ground. Permanent ones appear as a death magic circle carved into the ground where no plants can grow.

Manufacturing process

There are a couple processes used different kinds of deadgates. The simplest invovles offerng the ife sacrifice on a ground and speaking an incanation to summon a tempary gate. TO assist with magic cost, a death magic circle can be drawn or carved on the groundbefore the incantation. Even premade deadgatesgates can be summoned from other location with the proper preparation.

Tools

In order to make a Deadgate a great deal of death magic is needed. It also requires some sort of physical sacrifice of life to be made or maintain. The size and permanace depends on the sacrifice. FOr an example a simple blood offering can create a temporaily small dead gate while the scafice of mutliple lives would create a large possible permanent deadgate.
