Battle-Axe
The Stenza battle-axe resembles Earth-developed polearms such as the halberd or poleaxe. It is related to the spear (which it supplanted as a weapon of war; the spear is currently the ceremonial weapon of guards and Droghi, although you still wouldn't want one thrown at you). The length of the shaft varies from seven to ten feet, depending largely on who is meant to wield it, and attached to it is a curved blade which leads into a point, useful for both swinging at and stabbing the enemy.
Axes of this nature are routinely depicted in the (admittedly few) visual media that Stenza produce as part of the motif of Parevia dividing the firmament above Mudewei (and whatever she is presented above). Two such panels are carved atop the Twin Pillars, for example, and it is commonly done at the top of ice sculpture.
Battle-axes may also be decorative, with holes carefully worked into their blades from which small trinkets may hang on leather cords. Typically these trinkets are small bones, and an axe decorated in this fashion may be a ceremonial weapon alongside or in place of a spear. Creyth is known to carry such a weapon.
